Jennifer Allen, a native of Denton, Texas, earned her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000. After taking time off to raise her two boys, she became an Orange County Magistrate. Four years later, Jennifer opened her own firm in the heart of Chapel Hill, and she continues to successfully represent clients while fully realizing her passion for helping people at all levels of litigation and legal need. Prior to her career as an attorney, Jennifer graduated with a Masters in Music from The Juilliard School in New York City and Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas. This led to a career as a professional musician, and Jennifer played the oboe with the New Orleans Symphony and the Dallas Opera Orchestra. Jennifer still freelances occasionally in the Triangle.
Jennifer is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the Orange County Bar Association, and the North Carolina Bar Association, as well as the Susie Sharp Inn of Court. Jennifer was also among the attorneys named “Humanitarian of the Year” in 2014 by the North Carolina NAACP for their pro bono representation of Moral Monday arrestees in Wake County.
